There are many things that can affect the operation of your computer.

Environmental:
Poor power, static electricity, dirt & dust, excessive heat, liquid spills and misuse.

Mechanical failure:
Fans stop spinning, switches and buttons stop functioning, or keyboard keys stick.

Component failure:
Monitor with no display, hard drive failure, power supply failure etc.

Capacity Issues:
Hard drive is full, network is busy or the system is running out of available memory.

Operating changes:
Problems occur after new software or drivers were installed, or existing settings being changed like video resolution or something in the CMOS setup.

There are some things to consider before calling for help:

• Is your system still under warranty? Use Warranty Management to check the warranty status.
  We will still accept a call on a system that is out of warranty but there may be
  additional charges if new parts or a site visit is required.
  
• Do you have virus protection software installed on your system?
  If you do, try deactivating it to see if it is causing any conflicts or problems.
• Have you consulted the troubleshooting section of the MDG Manual?
• Have you tried the Frequently Asked Questions on the MDG NMSO support web site?.
• Many clients have their own internal support group that need to be advised of problems first.
• Have you recently placed a call for a similar problem?

There are some things we will need to know in your problem report:

• Your name and phone number
• Your department and address
• The CN number of the system that you are experiencing problems with
• A description of the problem, including frequency and severity
• The sequence of events that led to the problem situation
